Fire Action Week: 11-18 October 2009
Fire Action Week is a whole of state effort to plan and prepare for the coming fire season, and is running from 11-18 October.
All of Victoria is at fire risk this year, and is facing a potentially worse fire season than last year. Fire Action Week is the time to start planning and preparing for the fire season, if you haven’t already do so.
During Fire Action Week, Victorians are encouraged to identify their fire risk, prepare their fire plans, clear vegetation from their properties and local communities, and get involved in fire safety and/or community fireguard meetings in their local area.
Victorians can get involved in Fire Action Week by taking part in the planned events and activities such as the ‘Prepare to be Fire Ready’ day on Sunday 18 October.
