National Day of Mourning - Together for Victoria
In support of Victorians who have been affected by the bushfires and to acknowledge the work of emergency services, the Australian and Victorian governments have announced a National Day of Mourning - Together for Victoria - to be held on Sunday, 22 February.
Communities around Victoria will observe the National Day of Mourning with local services. Details for the Melbourne service are:

Memorial Service: 11.00am - 12.30pm
Doors open: 8.30am

Together for Victoria, hosted by senior ABC journalist Ian Henderson, will be televised live on ABC TV, Network Ten, GTV 9 and the Seven Network. Radio coverage will be transmitted throughout Australia on 3AW and ABC and streamed on the internet at www.premier.vic.gov.au
The Sidney Myer Music Bowl will open from 10.00am to the public to view the memorial service live. It will also be screened at Waterfront City, Docklands.
Travel on all metropolitan trains, trams, buses and V/Line services will be free between 9.00am and 3.30pm on Sunday 22 February for people attending the Together for Victoria memorial service.
Free buses will be available for people in bushfire affected areas who want to attend Rod Laver Arena or the events at the regional centres. Those wishing to use this service should contact Information Victoria on telephone 1800 136 762 by 5pm on Friday to arrange transport.
