Community Alerting for Bushfire - A Local Solution for a Local Need The Ferny Creek Fire Alert Siren Follow-Up Evaluation - 2002
The Ferny Creek Fire Alert Siren was the outcome of a collaborative community, local government and emergency service working group. The group established an alerting system to enhance the bushfire preparedness, planning and survival activities of the Ferny Creek community.
The project was in response to a community request for 'early warning', as a result of the bushfires in Ferny Creek, Dandenong Ranges in 1997.
