Victorian Emergency Management Grants Program 2009

Grants of up to $60,000 are now available to organisations with emergency management roles and responsibilities under the Victorian Emergency Management Grants Program.

Program focus

The highest priority will be placed on projects which have multi-agency involvement or have outcomes which are capable of influencing emergency management in Victoria and where benefits flow primarily to the community. Grants may be used for a range of one-off initiatives that could include:

• Community engagement, responsiveness and resilience
• Prevention/mitigation/risk reduction projects and strategies
• Enhancing emergency management skills and knowledge
• Research with clear application to emergency management practice
• Development of emergency management plans
• Developing partnerships
• Understanding and adapting to the risk environment
• Contribution to emergency management projects of national significance

Who can apply?

• State Government bodies
• Municipal councils
• Emergency service groups
• Peak bodies and associations
• Research institutions
• Other incorporated organisations in Victoria with an emergency management purpose

Completed applications must be lodged in both paper form and electronically with the Office of the Emergency Services Commissioner by 5.00 pm on Friday 1 May 2009. Guidelines for entering and an application form can be found below.
